Admittedly, I originally made this cocktail for National Tequila Day a few weeks back, but I never shared the recipe. The weekend is looming closer now that it’s 3:30pm on a Friday, and I can’t help myself: I’m craving another one of these bad boys!
This is THE perfect summer beverage and can be made as a single serving, or pitcher style for parties. Feel free to embellish with any of your other favorite fruits as well. You can never have too much fruit!
Tequila Blackberry Lemonade
Ingredients – Makes 1 drink:
- 5-10 blackberries, for flavoring and garnish
- 3 oz. silver tequila
- 6 oz. Mom’s Homemade Lemonade (recipe at the end of this post)
In the bottom of a mason jar, muddle somewhere around 5 blackberries. Top blackberry mash with ice, and then add tequila. Pour the lemonade over the top, and squeeze a bit of fresh lemon juice right on the surface of the drink. Garnish with more blackberries and a slice of lemon if you heart desires, and enjoy!
I think this will be my new go-to summer beverage! (Multiply all of the ingredients by 8, and you’ll have yourself a half-gallon of awesomeness.)
Mom’s Homemade Lemonade:
- 4 cups sugar
- 4 cups water
- 4 cups lemon juice
- 1.5 gallons of water
Step one is to make a simple syrup by heating the water and sugar until the sugar is dissolved. Let cool. Step two is add the lemon juice and water together with the simple syrup and serve cold.
